Most people quit in January

Hi Reader,

Damn, we're already two weeks into this year.
By now, about
65% of all new years resolutions are already have already been quit.

Not becasue of laziness..
But because they try to change everything at once.

January comes with big promises:
New year. New body. New habits.
Go hard. Fix everything. Don’t slow down.

But that’s not how humans work.
And it’s definitely not how nature works.

Nothing in nature explodes in January.
It roots.
It strengthens quietly.
It prepares.

Winter isn’t a season of transformation.
It’s a season of foundation.

And most people fail in January because they treat it like spring.
They train too hard.
They cut too much.
They add too many rules.
They try to sprint before their body is ready.

So they burn out, or get injured.
Or quietly stop.

Here’s the reframe:
If you can stay
consistent in January,
you’ll be unstoppable in spring.

Slow endurance.
Strength that supports your joints.
Mobility that keeps you moving.
Walking. Sleeping. Eating warm, simple food.

Boring work.
Invisible work.
But it’s the kind of work that compounds.

That's exactly what we are doing in Wild Fitness, a program designed for you to work consistently on your foundation first, before attacking with strength, speed, power, and plyometrics.

This week’s tool:
Choose one habit you could realistically keep until March.
One run. One short rehab session.
One mobility flow.
One strength session.
One daily walk.
That’s it.

This week’s action:
Lower the bar, and raise your consistency.
Don’t try to win January.
Try to still be here in April.

See you next Wednesday.

In 2025 I followed Alice across Spain. She was attempting one of the most brutal solo endurance races in Europe. 1,500 km through the desert. Seven days. Self-sustained. France to Portugal on her bike. Desert Lilies is the film we made together. It is about what happens to a woman when she decides to go further than anyone thinks she should. About endurance. About silence. About the desert doing what deserts do.Watch the film and trailer here:https://f.io/Gt68ofw2 Produced by Alice Segre and...

Weekly wild #10

Hey Reader, Everyone wants speed. Faster splits.Explosive workouts.Impressive sessions. Nobody gets excited about slow calf raises. Or 10 minutes of mobility.Or easy aerobic Ks.Or controlled single-leg strength. But that’s the work that actually changes you. Social media rewards intensity. Sprints.Heavy lifts.Sweat.Collapse on the floor. It looks impressive. But the real separators are built quietly. The boring work builds tendon strength. It builds joint control. It builds aerobic depth.It...

Weekly Wild #9 - Let your body organise itself

Hi Reader, A few years ago, while running across Europe, I learned something unexpected from bison and frogs. During Run for Europe, I spent time with the team at Rewilding Europe in Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, and Croatia. Rewilding Europe is a conservation organization that restores natural ecosystems across Europe by bringing back missing species, repairing landscapes, and letting nature regenerate itself with minimal human control. In Romania, they studied a landscape for years before...
